What is a DOT SAP?
Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs) have an enormous responsibility to the general
public. As a SAP, you are not an advocate for the employer or employee. Your function is to protect the public interest in safety by professionally evaluating employees with dot violations. SAPs are licensed/certified professionals who have studied and are
knowledgeable about :https://www.transit.dot.gov/
- Diagnosis and treatment and controlled substance-related disorders
- DOT testing and return-to-duty processes
Upon completing all
education and treatment requirements, the SAP will then complete an SAP report that
prescribes a series of follow-up tests that can last anywhere from one to five years.
